PBSNS owes its existence to the church community service project started in 1998 known as Pusat Berdikari Seremban or more affectionately abbreviated to PBS. 10 years into its noble project, so that it can grow beyond the boundary and work of the church, PBS was registered as a society in 2008 and is today known as Persatuan Berdikari Seremban Negeri Sembilan or simply PBSNS. The goal is the same, which is to provide job related skills training to young adults of all races and backgrounds within the age range of 18 to 40 who are learning disabled. Through our training we want to open doors for them and give them a better future to be self-
We invite you to be a part of our work to serve this group of disadvantaged members in our society. You can participate in one of three ways:
1. Buy the products made by the trainees. Currently they produce hand made greeting cards and bakery items.
2. Finance our work by becoming a partner. We like to indicate an affordable amount of just RM10 a month or RM120 a year. We will be launching a building fund soon to pay for a shop building we recently purchased to expand our capacity beyond 25 which is fully taken up and will need support as well.
3. If you are Seremban based, can spare a few hours a week and enjoys sharing your skills in teaching handicraft work and baking, we love to hear from you. We need volunteers to help provide useful skills training so the trainees can 'graduate' out into the employment job markets as some have already done so in 2008.
For further information about our work please visit our own website at www.pbs.org.my. You can also participate in our blog at pbssbn.blogspot.com where we post news and updates. Your comments there will be most welcomed.
