Choir Ministry - WMCSBN

The SWC has been in existence for about 60 years since around 1946. The baton of choir directorship was held by four dedicated church members: Mrs. Ingersen was the first director who handed over the role to the late Mr. S. Veerapen after she returned to the States. Ms. Elsie Chin succeeded Mr. Veerapen and when she was transferred to another Methodist church, the post was given to her sister, Ms. Chin Li Li (Mrs. Tan Li Li), the current director, since 1986.

The SWC sings in 4 parts: soprano, alto, tenor and bass. Most of the members are past their middle age. Although there are some new 'recruits' the choir needs a regular renewal of members to be able to sustain its service of presenting anthems every month on Communion Sundays and on special events like Easter, Anniversary and Christmas.

Members come for practice every Friday at 8.15pm in the sanctuary. If you have a singing talent we welcome you to join us.
